This property had a rolled asphalt walkable rooftop deck with a living space underneath. Unfortunately it was leaking badly and needed a replacement. What better solution than our Duradek membrane? After removing the existing gutter and railing we stripped the asphalt and found two old layers of plywood. Removing the first layer revealed the second layer as well as substantial rot and damage. We replaced and repaired these spots using concrete boards fastened down to have a stable walking surface, after which we installed our Duradek membrane as well as a brand-new stainless cable railing. Once the gutter was reinstalled Susan was left with an attractive, low-maintenance deck that will stay much cooler in the summer, keeping the heat out of the now dry, protected space below.
